Summary:

Working closely with the owners, the responsibilities start with planning and overseeing the vineyard and team, to the harvest, crushing and winemaking,
to the overseeing of the wine process and acting as an external face for the vineyard together with the owners.
Essential functions
· Planting and Pruning in the vineyard
· Training of personnel and overseeing personnel development of vineyard team
· Participate in vineyard quality evaluations
· Ensure mowing and maintenance weeds in the vineyard
· Track all pesticide applications, document and report regular
· Implement, monitor, and maintain records of vineyard operations (irrigation, pest treatment, pruning/canopy management, harvest, etc.).
· Supervise all vineyard production
· Responsible for coordinating the harvest
· Responsible for keeping valid record of vineyard operations
· Actively involved with all of the vineyard locations.
· Maintain and administer fertilization program, including petiole analysis and soil sampling
· Help with movement of all wine from grape to tank to bottle to removal from winery
· Care and maintenance of all production machinery, equipment and supplies. Problem solve equipment malfunctions
· Ability to use all wine processing equipment, including but not limited to, filters, pumps, press, bottling equipment, etc.
· Assist in wine production to include: bottling, crush/press, wine movements, barrel work, etc.
· Assist with organization and sanitation in all winemaking spaces, bottling line areas, crush pad and tank/barrel areas
· Other duties as designated.
Good to have
· Ability to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment
· Interest in conducting hospitality services such as classes in viticulture, as needed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s)
· BS in Viticulture & Enology
· 3-4 years of related experience
· Ability to operate a tractor, mower and sprayer
· Licensed & Certified for Pesticide application
Has valid driver’s License
